OUR TAKE-F$UCK SHERIFF TONY-DEERFIELD BEACH APPEARS TO BE SAYING NO TO BSO-BRINGING BACK COMMUNITY POLICING AND OUR OWN DEPARTMENT

Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, FL-While some have chastised Deerfield News for our continuing headline,” F$uck Sheriff Tony”.

It appears that is exactly the direction Deerfield Beach is going.

Having our own Police and Fire Rescue Department again will be best for the city and our residents.

Having full control of our Police and Fire Departments in Deerfield Beach, rather than in “DOWNTOWN” Fort Lauderdale, is the right thing to do at this time.

A city can not do business with an Elected Sheriff if he will not honor a contract. In fact, Sheriff Tony has blatantly dismissed the importance of a contract. Tony on one of his many videos produced about the Deerfield Beach contract,  seemed to be bragging about his disregard for “Contracts”. He brags that he is a full-time 24/7 police officer who always has his handcuffs and gun with him. That may be factual. But Sheriff Tony does not honor contracts by virtue of canceling Deerfield Beach’s, he spat in our face.

I would love him to tell any Broward County Circuit Court judge that he thinks contracts are not essential and can be unilaterally changed.

A deal is a deal, a contract is a contract. It appears, Sheriff, you have called the wrong city’s bluff. Not to mention, he allegedly threatened our city manager, Rodney Brimlow, a man who served as a career law enforcement officer with the rank of Captain at BSO.

While no vote has been taken by Deerfield Beach Mayor Todd Drosky and our City Commission, and those in the know say there appear to be three votes, which is all it will take to switch back from BSO to Deerfield Beach Police and Fire Rescue Departments.

Deerfield Beach Police and Fire Department will bring back real community policing instead of having BSO Deputies and BSFR firefighters who may or may not know Deerfield Beach and all of its roads. I have received negative comments from readers suggesting that all BSO Deputies and BSFR firefighters are familiar with Deerfield Beach roads and locations. I take exception to that.

I have personally had issues with calling 911 dispatch, where I had to provide explicit instructions on where services were needed and repeat the address multiple times, specifically in Deerfield Beach. Yes, I understand there is another Century Village in the county in Pembroke Pines, but I clearly mentioned Century Village Deerfield Beach and provided the best description of where the emergency occurred, including the name of the building, Swansea A, and the Upsminter Pool. I and other local businessmen have seen on multiple occasions BSFR looking for addresses around town, including in Century Village and Century Plaza. I have seen BSFR looking for locations in Palm Plaza as well as The Publix Shopping Center on Federal and Hillsboro Boulevard.

My first suggestion to our city leaders is that once we have transitioned from BSO and BSFR and have fully staffed. All deputies and BSFR firefighters are taught where every street and important location is in the city of Deerfield Beach is.

The first basic lesson should be what divides the city roads. Hillsboro Boulevard divides north from South, and Dixie Highway divides east from west. It should be mandatory as rudimentary as it sounds, that all BSO and BSFR are trained and tested on locations throughout the city. I know in their world of GPS, some may rely on it, but that is an error-prone technology that can fail.

Last week, the United States Secret Service found electronic equipment that could have literally crippled our cell phone service and sent text messages to each cell phone in America in minutes. That is a number over 300 million. Can you imagine what kind of misleading and harmful information an adversary could put out, causing havoc and panic? No one should forget that important intelligence, and that is why a backup to all technology, a plan B, maybe with a plan C, should always be in place.t

The city leaders and the new leadership of the Deerfield Beach Police and Deerfield Beach Fire Rescue must make it a priority that all personnel dispatchers, including, must know the city and its streets.

All we need to make this cancellation of BSO contract and Sheriff Tony’s greed and not honoring a deal are 3 of the following gentlemen to vote NO TO BSO! Like I said at the beginning of this post, it appears we are headed that way! Mayor Drosky and Commissioners do the right thing.!

VOTE NO TO BSO BRING HOME THE DEERFIELD BEACH POLICE AND FIRE  RESCUE DEPARTMENTS
