HOW ACCURATE IS GOOGLE NOW THAT THEY ARE USING “AI” FOR SEARCH-NOT VERY

Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, FL-A random search today has led me to question Google and their accuracy since switching their search engine results to AI.

I conducted a quick search after reading something online about my favorite baseball team, the New York Mets.

The search result I got was wrong. So I searched again and got a different result. The question was how many players played for the Mets for at least ten years.

The first result had three names. I knew something was not right. I could name three from the 1969  Amazing Mets from when I was seven. I know there are more than 3 Mets who played for ten years with the Mets.

Ok, so what is the point? The point is, Google has a problem if a simple search like this gives wrong or inaccurate information that people rely on.

The first result is below: they have David Wright,Ron Hodges, and Cleon Jones. Those are correct, but they are not the only three players who played ten years or more as a Met.

Just for the 1969 “Amazin’ Mets” World Championship year, the Mets had only been in the Major Leagues for seven years. I was thinking something was wrong here.

I know the late Ed Kranepool, their original first baseman, played a lot more than ten years as a Met. He played 18 years in his entire career as a MET. I know Tom Seaver and Jerry Koosman, both of whom also played more than 10 years as Mets.

Another search produced a different result, as shown in the screenshot below. The last search, which was my fourth attempt, seems to have the correct answer and order.

The same question, but with different results, as the first search only shows three players.
