Deerfield-News. com-Deerfield Beach, FL-In the news today. President Trump, angry with Senator Cotton for not voting on changing daylight savings time, decided to put his cell phone number in the public domain.
Trump shared the number to pressure Cotton into supporting the Sunshine Protection Act, a bill aimed at making daylight saving time permanent. Cotton had been actively blocking the legislation in the Senate. Trump posted the digits and urged his followers, particularly the “Great People of Arkansas,” to call Cotton directly and tell him to pass the bill.
The United States Air Force rushed to move 12 B-2 Lancers from RAF Fairford base in southern England. U.S. intelligence has apparently garnered some information that led to this move of the 12 bombers back to the United States.
On Sept 27th, the following happened leading up to today’s decision to move the bombers.
Counter-terrorism police in the U.K. arrested six individuals (five British men and one dual British-Iranian national) after three suspicious vans were spotted near RAF Fairford on September 27. Police later released all six suspects on bail as the investigation continues.
In Philadelphia, Pat’s King of Steaks, the inventor of the Cheesesteak, offered a Five-thousand-dollar reward. The reward was for identifying the angry customer who threw his cheesesteak back at the employee who served him. Apparently, the angry customer was not happy with something about his cheesesteak. Owner Frank Olivieri had offered a $ 5k reward for information leading to the arrest of the cheesesteak thrower.
The suspect turned himself in to Philadelphia police the day after the incident. Police charged him with harassment, a summary offense. Olivieri awarded the $5,000 to the individual who shared the tip.
