Deerfield-News. com-Deerfield Beach, FL-Like the headline to this post says. Five stars are great for a General, an Admiral, or a Google review. Perhaps even a hotel rating or a restaurant review; a 5-star review is beneficial for…Since 1981, our Military has retired five stars.

That said, why does Sheriff Gregory Tony need five stars on his uniform?

Here is what Google Ai has to say about this subject.

In the United States military, the rank equivalent to a five-star general is called General of the Army for the Army and Air Force, and Fleet Admiral for the Navy.
The following are the individuals who have held the five-star rank:
  • General of the Army:
    • George C. Marshall
    • Douglas MacArthur
    • Dwight D. Eisenhower
    • Henry H. Arnold
    • Omar Bradley
  • Fleet Admiral:
    • William D. Leahy
    • Ernest J. King
    • Chester W. Nimitz
    • William F. Halsey Jr.
It’s important to note that Henry H. Arnold is unique as the only person to have held a five-star rank in two branches of the military (Army and Air Force).
The five-star ranks were created during World War II to establish parity between American senior commanders and their counterparts in Allied nations. These individuals were considered the highest military authorities, second only to the President of the United States. Although the rank still technically exists, there have been no new appointments since Omar Bradley’s promotion in 1950. The five-star ranks were retired upon Bradley’s death in 1981.
