Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl-In what is now the South Florida world of “golf course real estate”.Toll Brothers appears to be ready to purchase the CVE golf course in Deerfield Beach and build townhomes.Sources have told Deerfield-News.com it is pretty much a done deal.
Those Floridians who have been paying attention have seen cases from one county to another where homeowners and HOA’s are fighting legal battles to keep builders out of their golf front properties.
Some courts have ruled in favor of builders and others in favor of the home or condo owners. There are cases pending appeals pending and this question is far from legally solved. That said the building looks like it will continue closed golf course by closed golf course. The situation in CVE Deerfield stems from the fact COOCVE the master association in Century Village sold the golf course to a private company, that company claimed it could not be profitable as a public golf course and they want to sell their real estate. No deal between COOCVE and their golf course buyer Randy Bast was able to be made so the golf course owner has sought to sell the property and it looks like they are going to.
Randy Bast bought the golf course in 2006 from COOCVE,ran it as Hillsboro Pines golf course.Bast paid 2.9 million and was asking $6.5 Million, but was unable to get COOCVE to pay that ,it appears Toll Brothers is more than willing.
