The city has made its choice, and they are forming their own Police and Fire departments. No matter what negative nonsense and propaganda Sheriff Tony and staff put out on the internet, Deerfield Beach will have its own Police and Fire rescue departments again.
The city of Deerfield Beach voted last night to authorize the use of outside counsel to sue BSO, if necessary, to enforce its rights under the now-canceled contract for services.Below is resolution 9.
. Resolution 2026/ – A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Deerfield Beach,
Florida, authorizing the conflict resolution procedures of Chapter 164, Florida Statutes, to

the extent required prior to initiating court action, regarding actions of the Broward
Sheriff’s Office (“BSO”) related to the transition of police and fire rescue services to the
City of Deerfield Beach Police and Fire Departments; retaining outside counsel to
represent the City regarding the dispute with BSO and in the Chapter 164 process to the
extent required, and to take all necessary actions to enforce the contractual transition
provisions, including but not limited to filing litigation against BSO, and pursuing such
other lawful remedies to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of the City;
providing for severability, implementation and an effective date. (Funds from Account

Contrary to what BSO Sheriff Tony and his propaganda campaign have said, the city of Deerfield Beach has a contract that calls for continuous service and spells out exactly what the Sheriff’s obligations are during the transition period we are in now.
