Deerfield Beach,Fl-Many South Florida cities have had incidents of cars taking over streets and blocking intersections and doing burnouts, racing/speeding, and other maneuvers, including Deerfield Beach. These incidents are sporadic, and most of the time, I have witnessed the “tuner crowd” doing them at night.
Deerfield Beach BSO District Captain Adam Hofstein has confirmed to Deerfield News that two such incidents have occurred in the last two weeks. With the latest on Saturday. Hundreds of motorcycles were reported traveling in the city on Hillsboro Boulevard, and apparently took over the intersection of Powerline Road and Hillsboro Boulevard.
Captain Hofstein told us the following: “I’m aware of two documented incidents of multiple motorcycles transiting our city within the last two weeks. This is a regional issue and they traversed multiple cities, with no specific nexus to the city of Deerfield Beach. When these instances occur, we monitor and enforce accordingly to the best of our ability and within the confines of safety until they exit our city. If the issue persists, we will formulate a proactive action plan, as we’ve done previously.”
