Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, FL-As far as business pioneers go, H. Irwin Levy, an attorney and founder/builder of the Century Villages and Wynmoor Village, has earned the honor of having a street named after him.
Mr. Levy was a visionary offering a ‘Way Of Life”. After almost 50 years, Century Village East finally put his name on a building at Le Club, but Mr. Levy deserves more. Deerfield Beach has many streets named after people. We did a story a few years ago about those streets. The main Gate at Hillsboro Boulevard is named after Amadeo “Trinchi” Trichitella, a longtime CVE resident and Political King Maker in Broward County. At one time, the absolute kingpin of Broward County’s democratic party.
I was fortunate to have two attorneys who knew “Hap” as they called him for decades. Unfortunately, both of my attorneys and Mr. Levy are no longer with us.
This is an open editorial to our CVE leaders and the city of Deerfield Beach officials to make this happen for “Hap”.
Mr. Levy’s family is still local, and they are very philanthropic.
