OUR TAKE-BSO SHERIFF TONY USING PAID ADS TO PROMOTE HIS POSITION IN DEERFIELD BEACH CONTRACT CANCELLATION

Deerfield-News. Com-Deerfield Beach, FL. OPINION-This morning, on my Facebook feed, I noticed a paid advertisement for a video put out by Broward County Sheriff Tony dealing with the Deerfield Beach contract controversy for police and fire services.

My readers know how I feel on the subject of Deerfield Beach remaining with BSO. BSO served us with Divorce papers and canceled a contract. This is not the time to kiss and make up.

BSO must go. We love the Deputies and Firefighters, not the Sheriff and his antics.

Sheriff Tony wasting Broward County Tax dollars to promote his position that he created . That is a bridge too far for me.

Shame on you, Sheriff Gregory Tony, for your shenanigans.

I do not know if it is only “Rhetoric”, if indeed you allegedly threatened to run over former BSO Captain Rodney Brimlow, our City Manager, in a parking lot if you saw him, but now wasting Broward taxpayer money on Facebook ads for a situation you created?

My Public Information Requests on this will start shortly.

Dear Howard Levy:

The Broward Sheriff’s Office received a public records request from you on August 14, 2025, seeking the following:

Please send me any invoices, statements, all financial records on Sheriff Gregory Tony’s advertising on Facebook, X NewsBreak, or any other Social Media or media, and the costs. Specifically for the Deerfield Beach contract issue and or any other issue from July 1, 2025, through today. Please also provide copies of those ads, videos, or any other ad materials the Sheriff has run in this time frame on any subject..

Your request was assigned a reference number R485149-081425 and is being processed in the order in which it was received.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is committed to providing records as quickly and efficiently as possible. Please note, as a result of an increase in workload and current staffing, our unit is experiencing a backlog of requests for public records. We appreciate your patience as we’re working diligently to fulfill requests in the order in which they are received. Please DO NOT make a duplicate request for a copy of your report/record as this could further delay the turnaround time.
Thank you.
