Deerfield-News. com-Deerfield Beach, FL-This week, we have posted a couple of times about Century Village drivers ignoring stop signs. Stop signs are not an option; they are the law. When you approach a stop sign, you must come to a complete stop.
What is so important in your life that you will not stop and make a complete stop at stop signs?
Our video footage, which is only about 15 minutes long, shows dozens of violators who just blew through stop signs. Stop signs are not optional; they are mandatory. Based on our video, there are likely hundreds of cars per day in CVE that ignore stop signs.
In my posts, I am asking for BSO to come out and do traffic enforcement. I understand, as does the city of Deerfield Beach, that enforcement is necessary. We also understand that for every violator, BSO will stop and ticket; there will be others simultaneously running a stop sign somewhere else in Century Village.
Like” Smokey The Bear” said, “only you can”- prevent running stop signs when you are behind the wheel. I have done my part, whether or not some readers seem to think it is a joke, and I should not have been out taking video. Not stopping at a stop sign will cause accidents and possibly a serious injury or death.
The city is aware; I have spoken to Mayor Drosky, and I am confident that BSO will be out to help address this problem.
I am confident that BSO will be seen in CVE. But the issue is that the drivers must stop at stop signs. BSO, I am sure, will be issuing tickets this week or next. The problem is that, as they are issuing tickets, other drivers will be running stop signs elsewhere in Century Village.
Again, stop signs are not a suggestion or an option.
