Deerfield-News. com-Deerfield Beach,Fl- Today we bought a roast beef Hoagie from Laspadas in Boca Raton. The Hoagie had light mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar on a hoagie roll. Laspadas Hoagies, the first store I ate at was the store on Seagrape and Commercial Boulevard in Lauderdale by The Sea. Like many, I started patronizing Laspadas in the eighties after moving from New Jersey.
A South Florida tradition for great Hoagies for five decades, and today was no different. Now with five stores serving South Florida. A definite “That’s Nectar” to Laspadas in Boca Raton. Still making a great product and tossing that roast beef from the slicer to the sandwich maker is part of the tradition, as well as the ringing of the bell if you leave a cash tip, and of course the great taste of their Hoagies.
Some of us still call it a sub, some a hero some a grinder, and for those from South Jersey and Pennsylvania, it will always be a Hoagie.
