Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, FL-The BSO- Deerfield Beach contract on page 19 allows the city to purchase any piece of equipment and all vehicles.
So the issue comes to personnel and money, which we are paying to BSO anyway. So it would be an issue of staffing /fielding our own 2 teams, Police and Fire-Rescue.
Retain the leadership and allow them to recruit from within BSO they know who the best of the best are. Do like Boca, and Governor DeSantis, and look to our neighbors up in the north for more staffing if needed offer a bonus. Plenty of police officers would be happy to move south to beautiful Deerfield Beach!
Taking back control of police and fire services is a must-do. The city seems to be in a position to take back our police and fire departments, and would have 2 years and 90 days to do it. Seems like a no-brainer, so we are never at the unilateral mercy of Sheriff Tony again!
Mayor Drosky and Deerfield Beach Commissioners tell the Sheriff to pound sand and take our police and fire departments and bring them home to Deerfield Beach!
