Deerfield-News. com-Deerfield Beach, FL-City Manager Rodney Brimlow addressed the Commission and Mayor tonight. City Manager Brimlow explained the increase that Sheriff Tony of BSO is demanding for both police and Fire Rescue services.
The demanded increase from Sheriff Tony would cost Deerfield Beach $100 million for police and fire services by 2029. The city manager says this is unsustainable. The city manager also said BSO is in default of Section 6 of the current contract.
Love our Deputies and love our Firefighters, but if we can not negotiate with Sheriff Tony. Deerfield Beach must explore the option of taking Police and Fire services back in-house.

Below are the contract and presentation from the city of Deerfield Beach manager, Rodney Brimlow, to the Mayor and Commission about the BSO termination of services effective 9-30-2025.Service must be provided until the city releases BSO for up to 2 years from 9-30-2025 if the city chooses other options. The number one option would be to break from BSO and have a Deerfield Beach and Fire Rescue department again.
