Description of Incident:
The Broward Sheriff’s Office V.I.P.E.R. (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) detectives arrested murder suspect Jaquan Brown on Monday afternoon for the homicide of Donelle Hunter in July in Pompano Beach.
According to BSO Homicide Unit detectives, at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, Broward County Regional Communications received a call regarding a shooting in the area of Northwest 17th Terrace and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Pompano Beach. BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded. On scene, deputies located Hunter suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported him to Broward Health North where he was pronounced deceased.
On Friday, Oct. 13, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Brown on a charge of first degree murder. Following his arrest on Monday on charges of murder and violation of probation, Brown was transported to the Broward Main Jail.
