Rental, Mortgage and Utility Assistance Program
On Monday, August 17th the City of Deerfield Beach will begin accepting Rental, Mortgage and Utility Assistance Applications to income eligible city residents affected by COVID-19 due to job loss or pay-cuts.
The program will provide a one-time payment of up to $5,000 per household for past due rental or mortgage and utility cost. The program is funded through Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV)- $406,320 and State Housing Initiatives Partnership Coronavirus Relief Funds (SHIP-CRF)- $307,500. The one-time assistance will be in the form of a grant and does not require repayment.
The program is available to low to moderate- income residents that meet the income criteria as determined by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, see income chart below.

Home Buyer Purchase Assistance Program
The City of Deerfield Beach, through the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), and Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) provides purchase assistance for very low to moderate income households for the purchase of properties in Deerfield Beach to occupy as their primary residence. Assistance is in the form of a 0% interest deferred second loan that reverts to a grant if all program conditions are met. This program is administered by the City of Deerfield Beach Community Development Department in coordination with the Deerfield Beach Housing Authority (DBHA).

- Maximum amount of assistance is up to $50,000.
- All properties must be located in the City of Deerfield Beach city limits.
- All applicants must be pre-approved by a lender before an application will be accepted.
- Applicants must have an executed real estate contract at the time of application submittal.
- Eligible properties include single-family detached homes, condominiums, town homes and villas.
- Applicants will be selected on a first-come, first qualified basis within the stated income groups when funding is available.
- Eligible applicants will be selected in the order in which they have been Income Certified. Funds will only be reserved after an executed purchase contract is received.
- Should your income change after you were determined income eligible and assistance has not been provided, your program eligibility will have to be recertified.
- You may use any licensed real estate professional of your choice. We also recommend you seek competent legal advice.
Homeowner Rehabilitation Program
The City of Deerfield Beach, through the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), and Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds, provides home repair assistance to very low to moderate income owner occupied households in Deerfield Beach. The primary purpose of the program is to provide home repairs, weatherization, and energy efficiency repairs necessary to provide a safe environment. Assistance is in the form of a 0% interest deferred second loan that reverts to a grant if all program conditions are met. This program is administered by the City of Deerfield Beach Community Development Department in coordination with the Deerfield Beach Housing Authority (DBHA).

Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program (HLMP)
The City received State funding from the Division of Emergency Management to mitigate approved owner-occupied, single-family properties. The HMLP will provide qualified wind resistance construction and installations completed with strict compliance with the Florida Building Codes and Manufacturer’s Specification.
