MLK Parade Presented by Toyota of Deerfield Beach
Theme – “UNITY”
Thank you for your interest in the 2020 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade which will be held on Monday, January 20th from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM. This year the parade will start will be at St. Ambrose Church (380 Federal Hwy); we ask that you check in at 8:30 AM. The parade will begin at 10:00 AM and will go north on US-1 for 0.4 miles and turn left onto E Hillsboro Blvd for 1.1 miles, the parade will then turn left onto SW 3rd Ave/SW Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave for 0.2 miles and conclude at Oveta Mckeithen Recreational Complex (445 SW 2nd St).
Following the MLK parade there will be a battle of the bands and then an awards ceremony at OMRC. Trophies will be given to the winner in each of the below listed categories. Be sure when filling out the application you list the category for which you wish to be considered. Judges will be located on the stage in front of Food Bazaar (202 W Hillsboro Blvd). Please note, it is important for you to provide the names of those that you would like acknowledged by the emcee together with any other information about your entry should you be chosen as a winner.
The City will pay each band up to $700 for their transportation or they will coordinate the transportation for the band.
