Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a man early Tuesday morning.
According to detectives, at approximately 12:53 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a traffic crash with injuries in the 600 block of North Powerline Road in Pompano Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded.
The preliminary investigation revealed that an adult male pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle in the southbound lanes of North Powerline Road, north of Northwest Sixth Street. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, and paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased on scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
