The BSO Public Information Office is currently working a developing incident regarding a /an accidental dischargelocated at: North Broward Prepatory, 7600 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek.

Public Information officer Joy Oglesby is currently gathering the details. Here’s what we know so far:

This morning, in response to a report of shots fired at the above location, Coconut Creek police department and Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies from Deerfield Beach and Parkland responded.

Students and staff were evacuated as the school was searched. The initial report, which came in at 9:36 a.m., was unfounded.

While still at the school, a deputy accidentally discharged his gun and injured his leg. He was treated at the scene. No one else was injured.
