WHAT’S SHERIFF TONY HIDING AND WHY WON’T HE RELEASE PUBLIC RECORDS REQUESTED IN JANUARY?
Deerfield-News also believes that this is nothing more than a “Grudge Fuck” because we are and were in favor of Deerfield Beach starting Deerfield Beach Police and Deerfiel Beach Fire Departments again.
Sheriff Tony is lying. BSO is full of shit. about why they are not releasing public information to the media that was properly requested through BSO’s Portal.
Sheriff Tony used on-duty deputies, paid them time and a half to attend a community event in Deerfield Beach, shredding documents and destroying old medicines. These deputies were passing out pro-Sheriff brochures to Deerfield Beach residents while on duty.During a crucial time regarding the canceling of the contract. The Sheriff spent unnecessary tax payer money to have deputies on duty shill for him.Now he does not want the public to know the cost of these Shenanigans.
Deerfield News or any media outlet or citizen has every right to request the information we did.

The cost of having those deputies at the event per hour per deputy? The number of “Know the facts flyers” That pertain to BSO and Deerfield Beach that were distributed to the public? The cost of the Know the Facts flyers BSO has had printed, and the quantity I was there with Deerfield Beach Mayor Drosky have pictures and video. The Statute governing public records requests says the following-
- Time limit: No specific number of days is mandated by Florida law.
- Requirement: The Broward Sheriff’s Office must acknowledge and fulfill requests within a “reasonable” and practical amount of good-faith time depending on the scope and redactions needed
Month after month, since January, when we made the following request, we have received a generic email that basically says BSO is backed up and has not yet been reviewed by staff. BULLSHIT
