Sheriff Tony, who describes himself as the most powerful man in Broward, is nothing more than a guy who, at best, does not keep his word or honor contracts at best. At worst, he is a lot more.
Sheriff Tony has his Chief Public Information Officer, Veda Coleman Wright, doing his dirty work.Veda is well aware of this public records request, as it is the only one that has not been fulfilled in 12 years of Deerfield news publishing our Hyper Local news blog.
The Sheriff should do the right thing regardless of how he feels about Deerfield News or me and release the records requested ipso facto.
I will be glad to keep posting about whatever nonsense this guy pulls in this case or county-wide as long as I am publishing this website.
Deerfield-News has attorneys, and if we must seek a mandamus, we will. If that is the game the Sheriff is playing to force me to file for a Writ of Mandamus, it will happen shortly. We will have the attorneys send the five-day notice of intent and see him in Broward Circuit Court. Unless he releases those records ipso facto.
There is no doubt a Writ will be granted.
