Deerfield-News. com-Deerfield Beach, FL-Governor DeSantis and Alligator Alcatraz are going to cost Floridians over TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS.
Federal Judge Kathleen Williams has ruled the detention center set up by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to close within 60 days. Situated on “Land” in the Everglades, which many Native Americans and other environmental activists had rigorously objected to since the project started a few weeks back.
Gov. Ron DeSantis said the reduction in detainees at the facility is being led by DHS.
“DHS is taking people out of there and they’re moving them out,”
The estimated cost to Florida is over two hundred million dollars.
Unless the federal government reimburses Florida, $200 million seems like a lot of money for a state to pay,but maybe that state should have stayed out of the federal government’s business in the first place.
