Deerfield-News. com-Deerfield Beach, FL-Century Village is making progress on two construction projects.
The main Gatehouse on Hillsboro Boulevard and the construction of a wall surrounding the village. Pictures we took today show how far along the Main Gatehouse is. We also have pictures from Hillsboro Boulevard showing the installation of the wall in the Westbury section of Century Village.
Century Village has 8500 condo units and three gatehouses for entry and exit. The main gatehouse on Hillsboro, a second gatehouse on Military Trail, and the third on Powerline Road and West Drive.
Howard, My parents were ‘original settlers’ (pre-construction buyers) of CVE and I’ve lived here since 2000. I’m 81 now. I seem to remember a story of a visitor sunbathing at one of the satelite pools when someone pressed the gas instead of the brake and crashed thru the gates and bushes and drove over the visitor dragging him into the pool where he was killed. The couple in the car survived. Is this true? Any more details? I have been on a mission to stop 90 yr-old residents from driving. We are fortunate enough to live in a place where it isn’t necessary. Any documentation on this incident or similar ones would be helpful to my cause.
