F$ck Sheriff Tony! Time for Deerfield Beach to have its own Police and Fire Departments again.
Just like the old days, Deerfield Beach and its residents should not be strong-armed by Sheriff Tony into something not in our contract with BSO.
If Boca Raton, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, and other local cities can do it, so can Deerfield Beach do it again.
Where is Governor DeSantis now? The same way he removed Sheriff Israel from office, he should now remove Sheriff Gregory Tony for the shenanigans he is trying to pull by threatening the city of Deerfield Beach to terminate Police and Fire Rescue services on 9-30-2025.
The city has 92 days to figure out how to do this. I know it will not be easy, but it can be done.
For an elected official, Sheriff Tony refusing to meet with our city manager, a former Captain at BSO, is unthinkable. Not only unthinkable but downright dirty politics. Our Mayor and Commissioners should also be welcome to meet with Sheriff Tony.
According to Dan Herz, the guy who lost the mayoral election to Mayor Drosky, either party can terminate the agreement with 90 days’ notice.
The city of Deerfield Beach should not waste another minute if the Sheriff is refusing to meet with our leaders to resolve the increase in money he is demanding. Terminate the contract and begin the process of having the Deerfield Beach Police Department and Fire Department again. We should never be in a position again like the one Sheriff Tony has chosen for us…F$ck Him!
