Driver Pulls Gun On Deerfield Beach Mayor Ganz

Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-The phone rang today with someone asking us to verify that the incident reported on by WSVN-7 involving BSO and a helicopter chase started in Deerfield Beach. Not only did it start in Deerfield Beach it involved Mayor Ganz.

Deerfield-News.com has contacted both BSO and Mayor Ganz, with no answer as of the time of this post. Mayor Ganz was driving on Powerline Road near Tenth Street shortly after noon today when he spotted a white car driving aggressively. He rolled down his window and a case of road rage started apparently from the other driver. Ganz quickly called 9-11 when he saw a gun being brandished.

Here is what the Mayor told WSVN-

“When he started revving up there, I yelled at him. I said, ‘You need to slow down,’” said Ganz. “He said, ‘Do you want to go?’ He reached over, must have had the gun sitting right on his passenger side, ’cause he instantly pulled out a gun, pointed it at me, cut in front of me, slammed on his brakes.”

BSO has caught the driver the helicopter unit was dispatched. The chase ended on Davie Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. Breaking News-Update to follow
