Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl-The following below Tweets from President Trumps  attempt to politicze “The Trump Administrations Failure”,not that of Mayor Carmen Yolin Cruz the true “American Heroine” of this tragedy. One thing Mayor Cruz no matter which party she belongs to,has right is people are dying.Mayor Cruz you have advocated  well for Puerto Rico like no one else!

The people of Puerto Rico urgently need solutions and help, not a political debate nor criticism of the Commonwealth’s financial plight.

When the President says “They want everything done for them”what exactly does that really mean?

I have seen on TV some of the hardest working citizens helping one another with no help from their government, using heavy equipment to remove debris, engineering pipes to carry water from natural springs to provide water, where there was none.People physically carrying others across rivers to save them.

Here is a quick history lesson of how Puerto Rico became a US territory and its’s residents “American Citizens”.

From the landing of Columbus in 1492 until 1898, Puerto Rico was a colony of Spain. In 1898, Spain lost the Spanish-American war and gave Puerto Rico and Guam to the United States. Cuba was made a protectorate of the U.S., and the U.S.bought the Philippines. Puerto Rico was not given independence.Maybe after this they will not want it,but shOuld be given the power of self determination and if they vote for it it should be granted.

Below is a list of Puerto Rico’s political parties.

Name (in English) Name (in Spanish) Initials
New Progressive Party Partido Nuevo Progresista PNP
Popular Democratic Party Partido Popular Democrático PPD
Working People’s Party Partido del Pueblo Trabajador PPT
Puerto Rico Independence Party (does not meet recognition standards) Partido Independentista Puertorriqueño PIP

The Republican Party (Spanish: Partido Republicano) is a political party in Puerto Rico, which nowadays effectively functions as the conservative wing of the New Progressive Party (PNP). It is the Puerto Rico affiliate of the national Republican Party of United States. The party supports statehood for the island.

This is a natural disdaster of epic proportions that the US could easily have minimized the suffering and deaths of our fellow Americans ,had we deployed troops sooner.

…Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. They….

…want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort. 10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job.

Deerfield-News-No one is verifying that number last number of US Troops and federal workers is currently 10,000. We can not verify there are. The number verifed was 4600 less than half of what Trump says are there.
Puerto Rico still only has 5 percent of the Island with electric power only 50 percent have had water restored and cell service is still very very bad.
Proud to see my fellow Americans in the Bronx on Tv today, many who came from all 5 New York boroughs,New Jersey and other states to organize a volunteer relief effort as many communities across America are doing. As we reported on yesterday Boca Raton Jewish community members organized a private charter jet that brought aid to the Jewish Community Center in San Juan for distribution to those in need in the town of Loiza. These truly genuine acts of human kindness we are seeing across our country are still not going to be enough to restore Puerto Rico to pre Maria conditons.Only the US federal government  has the resources that can do that.Let’s hope we have gotten the message to Washington.
