Shortly before 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, Broward County Regional Communications received a call of a shooting in the 4400 block of Crystal Lake Drive in Deerfield Beach. When deputies arrived on scene, all subjects involved had left. However, deputies quickly located the victim and suspects and determined that an attempted robbery had occurred. The preliminary investigation revealed a confrontation occurred between the three suspects and the victim. The victim tried to flee, and one of the suspects fired a gun; however, the victim was not struck. BSO’s Robbery and Crime Scene Units responded to investigate. Detectives arrested Heaven Lee Belknap (DOB 8/29/2008), Nasier Rivas (DOB 4/10/2007) and Jussvel Hechavarra (2/18/2008). All three face charges of attempted armed robbery and false imprisonment. Hechavarra also faces one charge of attempted murder.
