DEERFIELD BEACH: Facts over fear.
Last year, an independent poll of Deerfield Beach voters found that more than 75% supported renewing the City’s contract with the Broward Sheriff’s Office for law enforcement and fire rescue services. Despite the community’s support, city leaders voted to vacate the contract and move forward with establishing independent police and fire departments.
Throughout this process, BSO has maintained transparency and provided accurate information to the Deerfield Beach community, not to instill fear, but to provide the facts.

HERE ARE THE FACTS-

Sheriff has put out flyers and multiple posts on Social Media. He intends to modify the contract so that he must provide uninterrupted continuous service to the city of Deerfield Beach. The fear has been put out by him. Scaring residents that he was going to withdraw services in phases.
The actions of the Sheriff have put Deerfield Beach into a position where legal action will probably be forthcoming and soon.
SHERIFF TONY CAN NOT UNILATERALLY MODIFY THE CANCELED CONTRACT AS FAR AS IT PERTAINS TO PROVIDING CONTINUOUS AND UNINTERRUPTED POLICE AND FIRE SERVICES ANYWHERE IN THE CITY. HE IS OBLIGATED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30,2027 OR SOONER IF THE CITY RELEASES BSO. THE CITY HAS MADE A DECISION. DEERFIELD BEACH HAS MADE ITS DECISION. THE CITY WILL HAVE ITS OWN POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS.
FOR SHERIFF TONY TO TOY WITH THE IDEA OF ELIMINATING SERVICES IN PHASES. THE SHERIFF SHOULD DO THE RIGHT THING AND THE HONORABLE THING AND NOT EVEN IMPLY HE IS PHASING OUT SERVICES BY ZONE.
IF SHERIFF TONY LEAVES DEERFIELD BEACH WITHOUT POLICE AND FIRE SERVICES FOR ONE MINUTE HE MUST BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE THIS IS NO GAME. PUBLIC SAFETY IS NOT SOMETHING TO TOY WITH BECAUSE YOUR FEELINGS ARE HURT.
HE IS IN FACT USING FEAR AND SCARE TACTICS CONTRARY TO HIS ABOVE POST.
