The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian on October 27th in Deerfield Beach.
At approximately 11:58 a.m., that Monday, THI detectives responded to investigate a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near the 100 block of Military Trail.
The preliminary on-scene investigation revealed Michael Baldwin was driving a 2016 Nissan Versa traveling northbound on Military Trail in the left thru lane approaching the Hillsboro Boulevard. Detectives say the pedestrian, not in a designated crosswalk, was crossing the roadway mid-block from east to west.
Investigators say the pedestrian walked into the passenger side of the Nissan as it was traveling northbound, knocking the pedestrian to the ground.
