Deerfield Beach pays more to BSO than any other city in the county for police and fire rescue services now.

Deerfield Beach City Manager and former BSO Captain Rodney Brimlow has been refused a meeting with the Sheriff. This is not only unacceptable, but it is unthinkable to deny a meeting with our City Manager.

Dear Howard Levy:

The Broward Sheriff’s Office received a public records request from you on June 30, 2025, seeking the following:

Please forward to us the dollar amount paid to BSO in 2024 for Police and Fire services by the city of Deerfield Beach. Please forward to us the dollar amount the contract calls for to be paid in 2025 for both police and fire services for Deerfield Beach. Please forward the number of sworn deputies that serve in the Deerfield Beach District. Please forward the names and ranks of all BSO sworn Deputies in Deerfield Beach district. Please forward the number of Firefighters/paramedics BSO employs in Deerfield Beach. Please forward the names and positions of all civilian employees of BSO and BSO Fire Rescue who serve the city of Deerfield Beach. Please forward the names of all BSO Firefighters and Paramedics and their ranks that serve in Deerfield Beach.

Your request was assigned a reference number R475390-063025 and is being processed in the order in which it was received.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is committed to providing records as quickly and efficiently as possible. Please note, as a result of an increase in workload and current staffing, our unit is experiencing a backlog of requests for public records. We appreciate your patience as we’re working diligently to fulfill requests in the order in which they are received. Please DO NOT make a duplicate request for a copy of your report/record as this could further delay the turnaround time.
Thank you.
