Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl-Deerfield-News.com learned today of a parking battle going on between Deerfield Beach and Temple Beth Israel.

Temple Beth Israel is the first permanent Jewish house of worship built in Deerfield Beach. The temple sits south of Century Plaza on Military Trail and the parking lots are all interconnected

Our source says the city is alleging that Temple Beth Israel does not have enough parking spaces and the Temple Beth Israel says they own 32 space in Century Plaza. Apparently back in the day, Cenville were owners of that tract of land that became Century Plaza and the builders of Century Village, Cenville deeded to Temple Beth Israel 32 parking spaces in Century Plaza to comply with zoning rules back in the seventies. Deerfield-News.com has requested the public records pertaining to this issue.

We certainly have brought to the attention of the City of Deerfield Beach that when CVS remodeled the shopping center upfront parking spaces with ramp access for the handicapped were eliminated. CVS got the removed spots for access to their new store leaving the other tenants in the plaza with issues for their handicap clients.
