Deerfield-News. com-Deerfield Beach, FL-In our city, while I was told we do not have Flock cameras, we do have the controversial Automatic License Plate Readers, apparently from another company, not Flock.
That said we do not oppose the proper use of traffic cameras in any jurisdiction. Do not speed, especially in School Zones! It is the misuse which is occurring by bad employees of cities that have access and in some cases, police officers or deputies.
Ok our point today is I hope our mayor and commissioners are going to have every on-duty Deerfield Beach police officer with a body camera.
These cameras, just like the ALPR TRAFFIC CAMERAS, SERVE A PURPOSE TO PROTECT BOTH OUR OFFICERS AND CITIZENS.
Every sworn officer on duty should be required to have an operable body camera on.
