Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit are investigating a shooting that left a 44-year-old father dead and his 20-year-old son wounded in North Lauderdale.
The shooting incident occurred just after 7 p.m. on Monday, April 14, near the 900 block of Southwest 81st Avenue. According to investigators, Marlon Samuels was involved in an altercation with an individual in the area. At some point, the altercation turned physical, and the subject shot Marlon multiple times before turning the gun on Marlon’s son, Mikyle Samuels. The shooter then fled the scene following the shootings.
BSO deputies and North Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded. Detectives say Marlon was pronounced deceased on scene, while Mikyle was transported to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
