Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl- Too many posts on different Facebook pages, watering down the facts of City of Deerfield v Deerfield Beach Cafe.In the matter of not renewing the lease and the current tenant holding over refusing to leave the city-owned building.

This publisher finds it ironic that one of the biggest supporters who at best distorts the facts of the situation and I am calling him by name is Dan Herz.

Now in this publisher’s opinion, Mr.Herz wants to run for Mayor of Deerfield Beach. That is his option and choice. I find it a bit much when he continuously condemns the city leaders for their decisions, usually about money and spending. Mr.Herz and others allude all the time to corruption and or payoffs or kickbacks or just something that does not smell right to them.

Bring me any shred of evidence, document on the back of an envelope, an eye witness or ear witness, a disgruntled ex-employee or  the brother-in-law of a disgruntled ex-city employee, and I along with others more connected than I will investigate and be in touch with the proper authorities whomever they may be. There is nothing better I would like is evidence proving corruption by city officials. I certainly will publish all credible evidence if it exists and be in touch with whatever watchdog agency of the government oversees that, including local law enforcement and the FBI.

Prior to the bankruptcy pending the current operator had not been paying rent to the city. Where is Mr. Herz and his outrage at this? The current operator at the end of the day should and will be evicted. The current operator is causing you the taxpayers of Deerfield Beach to lose money. The current operator is also causing damage monetarily to the operator that won the new lease. I do not know either of these two business owners or the third the owner of The Cove who also did not win the new lease.

Common sense tells me if there was shady dealings and or illegal kickbacks as some have suggested he the owner of The Cove would be involved in litigation with the city over this. To my knowledge that is not the case.
