Deerfield-News.com-Deerfiel Beach,Fl-While some out here in the social media world are unhappy as the lowest bidder won the lease. This is a case where the lower bidder will actually pay the city less rent over twenty years than the other bidder the owner of The Cove had offered.
Deerfield Beach Mayor Ganz and Commissioners Drosky and Hudak voted for the Rosse/Oceans 234 proposal .Commissioners Parness and Preston voted for the Cove proposal made by Lou Moshakas . The 3 to 2 vote gives the deal to the Rosse group.
The pier restaurant will be named “The Palm House” and Rosse’s plan includes a grab n go menu too.Rosse will pay 210,00 dollars annually to Deerfield Beach.There also is a provision for a five percent bonus to the city if sales reach a certain level.
Rosse’s offer is to invest $2.4 million into developing her project and improvements to the building.
