- Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives responded to a collision Tuesday evening that left one man dead and multiple others in critical condition.
At approximately 7:20 p.m. Oct. 22, Carl Magnan was traveling westbound, in a 2009 Honda Accord, on Hammondville Road and began making a left turn onto southbound Northwest 27th Avenue. As he proceeded through the intersection, a 2010 Nissan Sentra traveling eastbound on Hammondville Road struck his vehicle, on the passenger side.
As a result of the impact Magnan and his adult passenger, Shana Ransom, were transported to Broward Health North. Magnan was later pronounced dead. All the occupants of the Nissan were juveniles. The driver is in critical condition, and two of the four passengers remain in critical condition at Broward Health Medical Center.
Traffic homicide investigation is ongoing.
