Sheriff Gregory Tony and the Broward Sheriff’s Office are doing their part to help prevent drug abuse and identity theft through Operation Medicine Cabinet and Shred-A-Thon.

Broward County residents are invited to bring unused, unwanted or expired medications for safe disposal. Residents who turn in prescription medications will receive a $5 gift card while supplies last.

Officials will also collect personal documents, including check stubs, credit card offers, receipts and any other materials that might contain sensitive information. Documents will be shredded free of charge. There is a maximum of five boxes per car.

Services are free and available to the community.
