CRAWLING ROBBER TAKES HIS TIME EMPTYING PAWN SHOP COFFERS

Two employees were caught off guard when an armed suspect held them at gunpoint as he casually emptied the business’ safes. Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing clear video of the suspect hoping the public can help identify him.
Around 11:30 a.m. Aug. 11, surveillance video captured the tall, muscular suspect as he walked up to the front door of the Pawn Max, located at 2868 N. State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes, and rang the doorbell. The man, who is seen wearing a light-colored, long-sleeved shirt, camouflage pants and a black beanie, approached the employees and quickly took out a gun. He ushered them to the back room, where he proceeded to tie them together and directed them to lie on the ground. For almost 15 minutes, the robber took his time removing valuables from two safes before returning to the front of the store, crawling on his knees to remove the cash from the register. Once satisfied with his haul, he left through the back door.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this robbery is asked to contact BSO Robbery Detective Steven Hoover at 954-321-4270. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
