Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach,Fl In the continuing saga of Sheriff Scott Israel and his removal from office as Sheriff of Broward. It seems today Governor DeSantis will name retired Sgt Gregory Tony from Coral Springs police as Sheriff. This would make Tony the first African American Sheriff in Broward County history. Sources have not confirmed the appointment as of 11.20 am but it is expected today by 3.00. We have also heard the name of a Sheriff from Northern Florida but multiple sources this am say it will be Gregory Tony.
