Driver 2: David Jerome Barrett, 42, male, 11/9/1973, Pompano Beach
Description of Incident:
At 12:16 p.m. on July 29, witnesses reported seeing Antonio Paguada Solares driving a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle in a careless manner. Solares wove his bike in and out traffic aggressively as it traveled westbound on Hillsboro Blvd. Solares then turned south onto Federal Hwy. and accelerated to an excessively high rate of speed.
David Jerome Barrett was driving his 2006 Toyota pickup northbound on Federal Hwy. and was preparing to make a U-turn at S.E. 5 Avenue.
Solares’ motorcycle struck Barrett’s truck on the passenger’s side door causing disabling damage to both vehicles.
Solares suffered serious injuries and was transported to the Broward Health North where he was pronounced deceased at 1:30 pm. Barrett reported no serious injuries and was not transported.
The investigation is ongoing.
