The 2017 murders of mother and daughter, Temeco Williams and Jada Allen, has long been unsolved. Now, Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are hopeful that an increased reward will bring long sought information to light that leads to an arrest in the case.
The Broward Crime Stoppers reward has now been doubled to up to $10,000. Williams and Allen were found dead inside their North Lauderdale home in January 2017. The homicides were the subject of the first episode of BSO’s “Open and Unsolved” cold case video series which debuted in 2022. A link to the video can be found HERE. For media, a link to the video without captions, can be found HERE.
BSO detectives and family members believe the killer likely knew Williams and Allen and knew the layout of the family’s home. There was no sign of forced entry, and two other children inside the home at the time of the murders were unharmed.
“This was a very cold-blooded crime,” said BSO Cold Case Detective Zack Scott. “This was not a robbery, at least, it didn’t have any of the characteristics that would make you think it was. They were asleep in their bed and someone chose to go into someone else’s home, knowing these people were there, kill two of those people, and then leave.”
“Nobody deserves what my sister and my niece got. And, you know, yeah, some people are in the wrong place at the wrong time. But they were in their home. They were asleep. Who could hurt you at that time in that place? So why would you want to go into their home and violate them and violate our family?” said Temeco Williams’ sister, Nicole.
Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Det. Zack Scott at 954-321-4214. If you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), online at browardcrimestoppers.org, or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States. Any information that leads to an arrest in this case is eligible for a reward of up to $10,000.
