At approximately 4:23 a.m., on Sunday, Dec. 10, Broward County Regional Communications received a call reporting a crash with injuries near Southwest Tenth Street and Powerline Road in Deerfield Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Fire Rescue responded. On scene, deputies learned a vehicle and an 18 wheeler truck collided. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the vehicle deceased. Fire Rescue personnel transported the driver of the truck to a nearby hospital with injuries listed as not life-threatening. A third vehicle, a pickup truck, was involved in the crash as a secondary impact. Nobody in that vehicle has reported injuries this time. BSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives responded and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this crash.
