Description of Incident

Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that killed a man in Pompano Beach.
Shortly after 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, BSO deputies in Pompano Beach responded to a report of an individual lying on the side of the road near a bicycle in the 1700 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue also responded and pronounced the adult male victim, identified as Jacob Robinson, deceased on scene.
According to detectives, the bicycle appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. An autopsy by the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that Robinson sustained injuries that were consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
