DEERFIELD BEACH WILL SAVE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS TIME TO SAY ADIOS BSO

Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-Deerfield Beach feasibility study shows that the city can literally save hundreds of millions of dollars over twenty years with its own police and fire departments.

In what has best been described by Deerfield Beach Mayor Todd Drosky as a “DIVORCE”.

The city of Deerfield Beach had its contract with BSO canceled unilaterally by Sheriff Gregory Tony.

It is possible that tonight, a vote on whether to stay or go with BSO could occur.

A recent Sun-Sentinel Op/Ed that we posted to Deerfield-News.com was also in favor of the city of Deerfield Beach forming its own Police and Fire Departments again.” It Is Broken,” to quote The Sun-Sentinel BSO, and the relationship it had with Deerfield Beach is irreconcilable.

Deerfield Beach will be better off with our own Police and Fire Rescue, as we had for seventy years before contracting out services to BSO.

As we have written since Sheriff Gregory Tony canceled the contract, we must part ways with the BSO.

Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Delray Beach, and Lighthouse Point, our closest neighbors, all have their own Police departments and do just fine!

I find it ironic that many on Social Media who are always only concerned about the cost, all of a sudden are against saving hundreds of millions of dollars. Taking control of our Police and Fire departments, not some guy in downtown Fort Lauderdale who does not honor contracts, also has a huge value.
