Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that left a man dead in Deerfield Beach.
Shortly after 6:52 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 9, BSO traffic homicide detectives responded to the intersection of Northwest 45th Avenue and West Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach after receiving a report of a crash involving two vehicles.
The preliminary investigation revealed Julio Mendes De Silva was driving a 2024 Toyota Camry traveling westbound on West Hillsboro Boulevard when Madison Yates driving a 2020 Chevrolet Blazer turned left into its path.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported both drivers to Broward Health North for treatment. De Silva was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
