Deerfield-News. com-Deerfield Beach, Fl-While Deerfield Beach has many streets that need additional traffic patrols from BSO. The stretch of Tenth Street both before entering the Sawgrass if heading west or leaving the Sawgrass heading east is on the top of the list. I am aware of Hellsoboro and its dangers as well as Powerline Road, Federal Highway, and Dixie Highway in different areas around the town. I urge Captain Hoffstein            “The Chief” of the  BSO Deerfield District office to double down on traffic enforcement in these places.

Again below is the official narrative we received from Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Chief Michael Kane on the accident…

UPDATE-No official release of any additional information by BSO or BSFR has been made since the original narrative below.

*Severe Vehicle Accident in Deerfield Beach Results in Multiple Injuries**

**Deerfield Beach, FL – September 13, 2024** – At approximately 9:00 p.m. this evening, Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue (BSFR) responded to a serious vehicle accident in the vicinity of SW 10th St and Waterways Blvd in Deerfield Beach.

Upon arrival, BSFR units encountered two vehicles with extensive damage and multiple patients in need of urgent medical assistance. Due to the severity of the crash, mechanical extrication resources, including the ‘jaws of life’ were required to safely remove the individuals from the wreckage.

Three adult patients (2 males and 1 female) were treated at the scene and subsequently transported as Level 1 Trauma Alerts to Broward Health North. The conditions of the patients range from serious to severe. Notably, one patient suffered a leg amputation as a result of the collision.

SW 10th Street will be closed during the investigation and cleanup process. Authorities are working to clear the area and assess the full extent of the incident.

This information is preliminary and subject to change as additional details become available.
