Deerfield-News.com-Deerfield Beach, Fl- Another person has died in what may be another suicide by train. Since its inception only a few years ago 110 people have died by either suicide or trying to beat the train or the train’s gates. Folks if you think you can beat this train you are mistaken. Be patient it will pass by fast enough no need to become a statistic.
Many of the 110 deaths have been suicide by train, others just people who are trying to beat the gate and lose. That said I have empathy for both those who may be suicidal and wish their friends and families could have gotten them help if possible. Also, I feel bad for the conductor and employees on the train as it is a traumatic situation for them as well with the frequency of these incidents.

The BSO Public Information Office is currently working a developing incident regarding a traffic crash involving train and pedestrian located at: 1500 block of South Dixie Highway, Deerfield Beach.
Public Information Officer Carey Codd is currently gathering the details. Here’s what we know so far:
At approximately 3:45 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 7, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a crash involving a train and a pedestrian near the 1500 block of South Dixie Highway in Deerfield Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. On scene, emergency crews learned an individual had been struck by a Brightline train. The individual was pronounced deceased on scene. BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
