- Description of Incident:
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal crash that killed a passenger in Pompano Beach.
According to detectives, shortly before 10:30 p.m. on July 15, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a traffic crash with injuries at the intersection of Copans Road and Northwest Third Avenue. BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded. The preliminary investigation reveals that the driver of a 2017 Toyota Tundra, Jeidson Andrade, was heading eastbound on Copans Road approaching Northwest Third Avenue when a 2014 Honda CRV, driven by Roland Lapommeray, turned left into the path of the Toyota. The front of the Toyota impacted the passenger-side of the Honda.
Paramedics transported Andrade, and two passengers who were traveling in the Honda, to Broward Health North. One of the passengers was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Lapommeray remained on scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
