Channel 10 is quoting Chief Michael Kane the Public Information Officer for Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue.Kane told Channel 10 WPLG that the child suffered a complete hand amputation when found by first responders. The child was airlifted to the hospital.
Chief Kane referred us to BSO Media Relations as the case is now being handled by the Special Victims Unit of BSO.

Around 10:15 a.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of an explosion in the 600 block of Northwest First Terrace in Deerfield Beach. When deputies arrived they located a six-year-old boy who had suffered an injury to his hand. The boy was transported to an area hospital with injuries that are not life threatening. BSO Special Victims Unit detectives responded to investigate and determine the cause of the injury. No one else reported any injuries.
