“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.
For my part: my very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made.
Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump.”
As I listened to Republican talk radio hosts today their heads are exploding the same on Fox and other right-wing TV news stations. Questioning if this is democracy. Well folks the decision was President Bidens to make to step aside and not run again. That is how it works. Now it is up to Democratic delegates to nominate and vote for Vice President Harris to be the next Presidential nominee of the Democratic party. If others wish to challenge her that is their prerogative. As of this writing many Democratic Governors including Governor Newsom of California and Governor Shapiro of Pennsylvania have already endorsed her campaign. Governor Shapiro is already being talked about as a potential Vice Presidential candidate as is Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan who is also one of the Governors being talked about as a V.P. Two other potential V.P nominees being talked about are sensor Mark Kelly of Arizona and Governor Roy Cooper of North Carolina.
Now be careful what you ask for JD Vance has called for Biden to resign. Ok if he resigns Kamala Harris is sworn in as the incumbent President I say that is a great advantage for her campaign going forward.
