- Description of Incident:
Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left an 86-year-old woman dead in Deerfield Beach.
According to investigators, the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, near the 3700 block of West Hillsboro Boulevard. The preliminary on-scene investigation revealed that the driver, Eva Florian, was driving through a parking lot in the area. Detectives say at some point, Florian lost control of the black 2014 Honda Accord she was driving and crashed into the support post of a concrete building.
BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. Paramedics transported the 86-year-old to an area hospital for treatment.
On May 12, detectives with BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit received information that Florian died due to injuries she sustained during the crash.
The investigation continues.
